The Surveying class has been developed to highlight the fundamental concepts of surveying, to familiarize students with the theoretical background of optical instruments, and to introduce the mathematical concepts of surveying. The main components of the course include: principles of surveying, linear measurements, chain surveying, leveling and its application in contouring, profiles and cross-sections, as well as the calculation of areas, volumes, and earthwork. Measurement of angles, traverse surveys, and tachymetry are also discussed. In addition, the theory of errors and adjustments, along with the principles of triangulation, are covered in the course. However, in this particular course, Land Surveying 1, the focus will be on principles of surveying, linear measurements, measurement of angles, open and closed traverse surveys, leveling, profiles, and cross-sections.
